About The Female Glaze…

The female glaze is a series of small paintings copied from the Ringling Museum of Art and painted onto a 3D surface in order to draw a connection between the historical and contemporary. The figures are removed from their context and taken entirely at face value. Through my imagined interpretation, the women are apathetic to the way that they have been portrayed, their eyes are glazed over showing their disheartened attitude towards the perpetuation of sexism across the centuries.
